This week, the Livingston Fire Department responded to a car accident and reports of downed electrical wires, water flow alarms triggered by a water main break, and a broken gas line. On Wednesday, August 17, the homeowner at 72 West McClellan Avenue lost power and went outside to find that electrical service wires had been ripped from the house and were laying in the driveway and the street. Fire officials cordoned off the area and notified Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) while Livingston police officers stood by to secure the scene. Fire Chief Chris Mullin speculated that a box truck could have caught the wires when driving by.
