Livingston Police Department confirmed this morning that a fatality occurred at a house fire at 225 East Cedar Street yesterday. The case is being handled by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, and no further information has been released.
According to the Livingston Police Department, upon arriving at the scene, police officers were informed that there may be someone inside the house. Two Livingston Police officers entered the house to search for the victim, but were forced back out due to heavy smoke conditions. One officer suffered smoke inhalation, but is expected to make a full recovery.
