Cay was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Philomena’s Parish where she volunteered for the CCD program for over 20 years. She was a money counter and volunteered for various events. Traveling to many places including Israel and Portugal with her fellow parishioners further strengthened her already strong faith. She also served as a Eucharist minister. She was the president of the Women’s Club of Livingston while volunteering for the Eyes of the Needy and Employment Horizons, and she also tutored many children.

Cay was predeceased by her husband Raymond Mignone, and her parents James and Cecilia Marucci. She is survived by her two loving children, Mary Kay Alberto and her husband Steve, and James Mignone and his wife Lena; and four grandchildren, Christine, Catherine, Christopher and Stephanie, who she adored. Marge Sykes, her sister, lived with her in Livingston and Port St. Lucie. She was blessed with four great-granddaughters, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Sophia and Alexandra.

Selfless, love, devotions are just three words that can be used to describe Catherine. Visitation was held on Sunday April 2, 2023, at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held on Monday, April 3 at St. Philomena Church in Livingston, with interment immediately followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, New Jersey.
