Fire Officials Respond To Leaking Pipe at Town Center

The Livingston Fire Department responded to a number of calls this past week, including a report of a leaking pipe at Town Center on Saturday, April 1.

Air was reported to be leaking out of a large pipe in a garage along Town Center Way, and fire officials found an issue with the dry zone before shutting off the valve. They also contacted and alerted security of the problem.

Odor

Residents of 3 Springbrook Road contacted the department on Friday, March 31, after discovering a smell coming from the kitchen. Officials arrived and surveyed the area, finding no issue.

A burning odor was linked to a microwave at 50 Lexington Drive on Sunday, April 2. Fire officials disconnected the unit.

False Alerts

A contractor accidentally set off a fire alarm while working on the system at 38 South Livingston Avenue on Thursday, March 30. That same day, there was a system malfunction at 17 Fieldstone Drive.

The fire alarm transmission was activated at 17 Sunshine Lane on Saturday, April 1, due to a system malfunction. It was activated the next day at 19 Canterbury Road with no issues found by fire officials.

Residents at 12 Grasmere Court and 29 Bonnyview Drive canceled prior to the department’s arrival on Thursday, March 30, after carbon monoxide and fire alarm transmissions activated, respectively.
