The Livingston Police Department recognized its dispatchers for their good work during National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week. Dispatchers answer non-emergency calls to the police station, 911 calls, send out emergency service transmissions, monitor emergency transmissions from surrounding towns, and answer radio calls from officers.

“We greatly appreciate our dispatchers,” Livingston Police Chief Gary Marshuetz said. “Other municipalities use a county-run dispatch, while we have in-house, full-time communications workers, who are integral to our department. They are part of our overall goal to provide a level of services to the residents like no other. They handle emergency calls and sensitive calls. In emergencies, they multitask and handle multiple calls at once. We can’t thank them enough for their dedication and service to our community.”

Dispatchers Gerald Falzo, Michael Hornstein, Kevin Schaeffer, Stephen DeHaven, Nicolas Limanov, and Jason Sharenow were thanked by Chief Marshuetz.
