One BMW X7 was stolen from outside a Livingston home, and an attempt was made to steal another model of the same vehicle outside of a township business over the past few days, according to Livingston Police.
At 2:02 a.m. on Sunday, January 8, Livingston officers responded to a Riker Hill Road residence on a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, they met with the homeowner, who stated that she heard her 2020 BMW X7 start up and saw it being driven away. It is unknown if the key fob was left in the vehicle.
The following day, at 1:06 p.m. on Monday, January 9, officers responded to the Livingston Circle Car Wash on a report of an attempted vehicle theft.
While a BMW X7 was outside of the car wash, a vehicle pulled up next to it. A person then entered the BMW and attempted to start it but was unsuccessful. The suspect then fled back to a waiting vehicle and fled the scene.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating both cases.
