The deadline to submit an application is May 22. No late applications will be considered.

“To ensure our continued ability to accommodate expanded enrollment, realize innovations in instruction, and promote student success, we are ready to form a Long Range Facilities Planning Committee to help envision future facilities for the Livingston Public Schools,” said superintendent of schools Matthew Block. “This committee will include school administrators, Board of Education Members, Teachers, staff and faculty members, students, and members of the greater Livingston community.”

An informational video and volunteer application form is posted on the front page of the district’s website www.livingston.org, under “DistrictAnnouncements.” Individuals will be selected to participate in the committee’s work based on their personal expertise and knowledge of the community and school district. All efforts will be made to create a diverse committee with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and areas of expertise.

“Over the past few years, the Livingston Public Schools has seen a significant increase in new enrollments,” Block said. “We believe that this influx can be attributed to the wonderful reputation our school district enjoys. This reputation relates directly to the excellent work of our (Continued from Page A-1) outstanding professional educators and the many talents and achievements of the best students around.”

He continued, “Our recent strategic planning process resulted in a renewed commitment to innovation, active learning, collaboration, and communication skills, and providing students with the tools to navigate a quickly changing world. In order to remain on the cutting edge, and to meet our commitment to our students, our facilities must support the work ahead of us. We now must assess whether we are maximizing the facilities we have, and determine if additional or improved facilities are needed as we look to continue offering the highest caliber education for our students and community now and into the future.”
