Two high end luxury vehicles were left unlocked and stolen this past weekend, Livingston Police said.
At 9:49 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, officers responded to the Westminster Hotel on a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, they met with the victim, who said that he was staying at the hotel and his 2021 Land Rover Range Rover was stolen sometime on Friday night.
The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keyfob inside. The vehicle was recovered later that evening in New York City.
Later that weekend, at 2:23 a.m. on Sunday, June 18, a Livingston officer observed two vehicles – a BMW 330 and an Infinity Q50 – driving aggressively and passing one another on Shrewsbury Drive.
An investigation revealed that the Infinity had a stolen license plate affixed to it and the BMW had just been stolen from a Fredon Drive residence. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the valet key left inside.
The BMW was recovered a short time later in Irvington.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating both cases.
