Man Facing Attempted Vehicle Burglary Charge

An Elizabeth man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to burglarize a car in town, Livingston Police said.

An Elizabeth man is facing charges after he allegedly attempted to burglarize a car in town, Livingston Police said.

At 8:37 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, Livingston officers responded to an Amelia Avenue home, on a report of a suspicious person running from a vehicle which was parked in a driveway.

The suspect, Jamar Snipes, 20, of Elizabeth, was located by officers at another residence onAmelia Avenue.

An investigation by on scene officers found that Snipes allegedly attempted to burglarize the vehicle, gave false information to officers, attempted to get rid of evidence and had a warrant out for his arrest.

Snipes was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters, where he was charged with criminal attempt, hindering and destruction of evidence. Custody of Snipes was transferred to Elizabeth Police Department for his outstanding warrant.
