Margaret Lilien, 99, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on December 2,2023, just three months shy of her 100th birthday Bom in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Margaret eventually moved to Livingston in 1970, where she wouldresideforover50years. She married the love of her life, Edward Lilien (of blessed memory), on August 24, 1944. The two had a beautiful life together, full of happy times and many precious memories.
Margaret believed in doing for others. She was a Life Member of Hadassah of Livingston-West Orange, was avolunteerat St. Barnabas Medical Center, and was the Treasurer of Ahavath Achim B ’nai Lilien for over 20 years. When she wasn’t volunteering her time, you could find her knitting for those in nursing homes or for the National Council of Jewish Women. To say Margaret was a woman of valor would be an understatement.
Margaret is predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Lilien (2007). She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, including, Lauren Price Stierman andMark Stierman, Janet Lasky, Deborah Hughes, Gary and Robin Price, Larry and Kyle Price, Teri Kaplan, Alan and Lori Lilien, and Carol and Saul Goodman.
A Graveside Service was held on December 4,2023, atBeth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
