Patricia Ann Culver, 79, passed away peacefully on January 31.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, William Meeker Culver; her son, Scott Culver and his wife, Tanya Ivchenko; her daughter, Melissa Chimenti; granddaughters Sasha, Zoey, Lily and Patti; and many friends and relatives, whom she loved like immediate family. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Allcom of Montclair, by only a few weeks. Bom in Glen Ridge, Pat graduated Montclair High School and Westminster College with a degree in Education. As an elementary educator for over 30 years, Sunday school teacher and a loving mother and grandmother, she brought joy and learning to all the children who were fortunate enough to cross her path. Her students were the passion of her life. Pat worked as a teacher and assistant principal at Mt. Pleasant Elementary School in Livingston for 21 years, and there are many alumni of her classes who fondly remembered her years later.
Once she had grandchildren, she spent countless hours working together with them on the same types of projects she had done with her students. Pat loved annual trips to Florida, St. Maarten, and traveling with extended family to Wildwood Crest and Speculator, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to World Vision, Pat’s favorite charity.
