Mrs. Keelan Dies at 87
Mary Lucille Pringle Keelan, 87, of Cedar Knolls, died on May 14, after a multi-year battle with oral cancer.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Pringle Keelan grew up in East Orange and moved to Livingston in 1951. She lived the majority of her adult life in Livingston before moving to Cedar Knolls in 2017.
After her first husband James Pringle passed in 1991, she remarried in 2002 to John P. Keelan, who passed shortly thereafter.
She was the mother of Kathleen (Augie) Kaufhold, and had two grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren, with a third on the way. In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her siblings Eileen Mooney, James Mooney, and William Mooney. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret “Peggy” Doris; her five nieces and nephews; her 16 great-nieces and nephews; and her seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
Family and friends gathered on Sunday, May 19 at Bradley-Braviak Funeral Home in Whippany. A Funeral Mass was held in her honor at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel Church, in Cedar Knolls, on Monday, May 20.
