Boys’ Tennis Team Record Stands at 13-11

Last week, the Livingston High School varsity tennis team lost to two of New Jersey’s top teams, Newark Academy and Millburn, in Super Essex Conference matches. They also defeated Montville in a regular season match. The Lancers have a 13-11 season record.
Boys’ Tennis Team Record Stands at 13-11

Last week, the Livingston High School varsity tennis team lost to two of New Jersey’s top teams, Newark Academy and Millburn, in Super Essex Conference matches. They also defeated Montville in a regular season match. The Lancers have a 13-11 season record.

The Lancers first lost to Newark Academy, 5-0. NewarkAcademy won the singles matches in straight sets defeating Livingston’s Dennis Wang, Julian Turovets, and Christopher Liao. Newark Academy swept the doubles versus Arjun Bansal, Jake Hershkin, Jacob Goldstein, and Jared Melamed.

Millburn then beat Livingston, 4-1. Wang, Turovets, and Melamed lost the singles matches while Bansal and Hershkin lost first doubles. Goldstein and Dylan Tovitz won second doubles 6-3, 1-6, 11-9.

Next, Livingston defeated Montville with a final score 4-1. Wang and Dhruv Anantaraman won straight set matches at first and second singles while Turovets lost third singles 5-7, 6-1, 9-11, Goldstein and Hershkin won first doubles 6-1, 6-7 (7-9), 10-8 while Advaith Pillai and Tovitz won second doubles 6-2, 7-6 (8-6).

Before the match against Montville, the four seniors, Goldstein, Hershkin, Pillai, and Tovitz were honored alongside Erika Massiani and Isabella Weisman, who completed their third year as Livingston tennis team managers.
