Parade Committee Announces Line of March, Memorial Day Schedule for May 27 Festivities

The Livingston Memorial Day Parade Committee has announced the line of march for the festivities on Monday, May 27.

The Livingston Memorial Day Parade Committee has announced the line of march for the festivities on Monday, May 27.

The day will begin at the Oval at 9:30 a.m., with the annual veterans’ patriotic ceremonies. First responders will also hold their own ceremonies prior to the start of the parade, which will begin at 10 a.m.

Marching in the parade will be the Livingston Police Department; the Livingston High School band; the color guards for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion, and Jewish War Veterans (JWV); members of the VFW Arthur E. Smith post, the VFW Auxilliary, JWV, American Legion, andVietnam Veterans; Miss Buddy Poppy; members of theNational GuardArmy; the parade’s grandmarshals; the Uptown String Band; Hybrid Card; various township officials; and members of the Board of Education.

Township organizations that will be marching in the parade will include St. Ann’s of Hampton’s Pipe and Drum; the Livingston Fire Department, and the Livingston First Aid Squad.

The parade will also include the Horseneck Motorcycle Riding Club; Livingston Collision; Panek’s Service Center; Aardvark Clowns; the Livingston Chapter of UNICO; the Kiwanis Club ofLivingston; Knights of Columbus; and the Livingston Elks’ Lodge #1855.

Community organizations that will be marching in the parade include the Arts Council ofLivingston; Livingston Democratic County Committee; Truck Dixie Land Band of Melford; members of the Life Committee and the Livingston Hauxia Chinese School; congregation members from the Living Stone Christian Church and Full Gospel Church; representatives from the Livingston Committee on Diversity and Inclusion; Patriots Band; martial arts/karate schools; the Livingston Republican Association; the Livingston Lions ’ Club; CareOne; Freemasons of Livingston; and the Livingston Chinese Association.

There will be many youth associations marching in the town’s Memorial Day parade. Those marching include the Livingston Baton Twirlers and Starliners Dance Team; Aquinas Academy; representatives and students from Hillside, Collins, andMt. Pleasant Elementary Schools; New York City Mariachi; the Big L Organization; Livingston Junior Lancer Lacrosse League; Lancers Football and Cheer; Livingston Soccer Club; Boy Scouts of America Troop 16; Livingston Pack 16 Cub Scouts; Boy Scouts Pack and Group 12; the Girl Scouts of Livingston; Cub Scout Packs 365 and 107, both of West Orange; the new student co-ed group 28th South Mountain, BPSA; the Kiwanis Builders Club at Heritage Middle School; and the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS) West Essex.

No flags other than the American flag and the organizations’ banners will be allowed to fly at the parade.
