The Livingston Little League 12U All Star team defeated Hoboken 3-2 to win theNew Jersey Section 2 Baseball Championship on Thursday, July 18, at Sgt. William Feskin Memorial Field in Hoboken.
The victory was highlighted by Blake Simon pitching a complete game, while home runs were clubbed by Simon and Cameron Roig. Livingston will next advanced to theNew Jersey State finals, in Freehold, on Wednesday July 24. They faced off against Morristown. The result of that game was not known at press time.
The final four teams remaining in the state are Livingston, Morristown, Lincroft, and Blackwood, with the winner advancing to the regional championship in Bristol, Connecticut.
