A New York woman is facing charges relating to operating a car with a stolen license plate in town earlier this month, Livingston Police said.
At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, Livingston officers were alerted via a license plate reader that a stolen license plate had entered the township on the north side of town. The license plate was reported stolen out ofNew York City and belonged to a Ford vehicle, but the suspect vehicle had the license plate on a Nissan Rogue.
Livingston officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Betty Warmack, 59, of Bronx, New York, was operating the suspect vehicle and stated that she had found the license plate on the ground and put it on her vehicle.
Warmack was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. She was issued multiple motor vehicle violations as well as receiving a summons for theft of movable property. She was released on her own recognizance pending a future court date.
