The Livingston Planning Board held its re-organization meeting on Tuesday evening, January 3, in person at the Livingston Township Hall.

Re-appointed and new members, including Rudy Fernandez, Rosy Bagolie (who will serve as Township Council liaison), Ann Cucci, and township manager Barry Lewis, were sworn in.

In addition, Rudy Fernandez was elected to serve as chairman through January 2, 2024. He will replace long-time chairman Peter Klein, who has stepped down from that position after 22 years but will remain with the Planning Board for another year. Elected vice chairman of the Board was Stephen Santola.

Board members applauded Klein and thanked him for his long service as chairman. “It’s the end of an era,” noted Santola.

Livingston planning administrator Jackie Coombs-Hollis was reappointed as secretary of the Board, and planning coordinator Catherine Maddrey, as assistant secretary.

Richard Vallario was confirmed as the Board attorney for a term expiring on January 2, 2024.

Richard Dinar was named chairman of the Minor Subdivision/Site Plan Committee, with Peter Klein, township manager Barry Lewis, and Board member Sam Ratner as others members of the Committee.

Board member Jill Wishnew was named an alternate member of the Committee.

Klein was designated liaison to the Livingston Community Partnership Corporation (also known as the Business Improvement District, or BID).

Sam Ratner was confirmed as a member of the Livingston Environmental Commission while also serving as a Class IV Planning Board member through the completion of his service with the Board or with the Commission, whichever comes first.

Member Michael Reiber will also serve as a member of the Open Space Trust Committee through December 31, 2023, or the expiration of his service with the Board.

In addition, the Board adopted its 2023 schedule of meetings; discussed the engagement of traffi c, water and sewer experts for an upcoming application by Mount Pleasant Partners, LLC and a traffic expert for an upcoming application by Devan Partners, LLC d/b/a Northfield Dental Group.

The Board discussed the designation of Richard Dinar as chairman of the Technical Review Advisory Committee (TRAC), and Stephen Santola and Peter Klein as other members of the Committee.

The Board’s next regular meeting will be Tuesday, January 17, which will take place in person at the Township Hall.
