Boys’ Cross Country Team Improves To 5-0 After Dual Meet Victories

In the second week of conference dual meet action, the Livingston High School boys’ cross country team continued its unbeaten streak, improving to 5-0 with victories over Newark Academy and Verona. The Lancers narrowly edged Newark Academy by a score of 24-34 and dominated Verona with a commanding 15-46 win.

Leading the charge for Livingston was sophomore Sean Tesoriero, who finished third overall with a time of 18:15. Close behind was teammate Jinay Veera, crossing the finish line in 18:17. Running his first-ever cross country race, sophomore David Flores made an impressive debut, finishing third for the Lancers and seventh overall with a time of 18:51.

Lucas Liu finished fourth for Livingston, clocked in at 18:54, followed by Matthew Chong, who rounded out the top five with a time of 19:09. Senior Senjun Lu also put in a solid performance, finishing with a time of 19:38, while Landon Maru (19:53) and Jonathan Ma (19:59) completed the list of Lancers’ top runners under 20 minutes.

Additional varsity contributors included Zachary Croket (21:38),Alexander Shkolnikov (22:09), Dylan Sutton (22:27), andAri Kestenbaum (22:46), all putting in strong efforts for the team.

In the junior varsity race, freshmen Nathan Panich and Dilan Bhimani led the way for Livingston, finishing with times of 20:51 and 20:56, respectively. Ethan Kartagener also put in a strong performance, coming in at 20:56 as the 12th overall finisher and third for the Lancers. Marco Valle followed in 21:30, with sophomore Vedant Khandelwal rounding out the top five in 21:41. Freshmen Daniel Su and Christian Aguila completed Livingston’s top seven with identical times of 22:01.
