Shiv’s Third Eye is hosting a Youth Mental Health Wellness Fair at Livingston High School on Sunday, November 17, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. The goal of the fair is to raise awareness and share resources about youth mental health. Resources for neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists, school and clinical psychologists, physiatrists and alternative therapists such as pet therapists, art therapists, music therapists, and drama therapists will be provided to those in attendance.
The fair will feature a panel discussion by experts to review various ways parents can help their children become the best version of themselves using resources both within and outside of the school.
During the event, the winners from the “MindSpeak” Essay Competition will be announced. This year, 26 schools participated, with students (Continued on Page A-6) sharing their thoughts on mental health and support. The winners will be recognized for their contributions to the conversation around mental wellbeing. Erin Hedinger (psychotherapist and trained writing workshop facilitator), Michael Sunga (English teacher at Livingston High School), and Gita Vardarajan (elementary school teacher and author) will judge the submissions and announce the winners.
This event will be live streamed virtually. All the panels will have a question and answer section. The link will be shared at shivsthirdeye.org prior to the event’s start time.
Shiv’s Third Eye’s mission is to spread the message of youth mental health awareness throughout New Jersey. This fair is just one step in fostering a community that values emotional health as much as physical health. By bringing people together to talk, learn, and have fun, the event’s organizers hope to reduce stigma and promote understanding.
