During its final meeting of the year, the Livingston Planning Board approved Esplanade Livingston, LLC’s preliminary and final site plan to construct two inclusionary multifamily developments at 550 to 570 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue and 8 to 10 Microlab Road.
Due to public safety concerns brought up at a previous meeting, the Board requested that a non-binding resolution be drafted to ensure Esplanade Livingston, LLC addressed those concerns before casting its vote.
In her statement, lawyer Amanda Curley reiterated that the development projects largely complied with zoning standards outside of a few minor variance requests. These variances, she added, were related to accessory structures and parking stall size, in connection to the proposed 120-unit building’s garage. Board chairman Rudy Fernandez, in turn, said the draft resolution was circulated among the Boardmembers, but slightly tweaked to change a request for non-staining brick along certain walls - which does not exist - to “permeable sealant-treated brick,” (Continued on Page A-7)
