Livingston Police detectives are investigating a report of people wearing masks, attempting to enter vehicles at a Livingston residence.
At about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11, officers responded to a Hearthstone Terrace home on a report of an attempted motor vehicle burglary.
Officers arrived and met with the homeowner, who said that she observed four masked individuals in her driveway attempting to gain entry to her 2024 BMW X7 and 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The suspects were unsuccessful and fled the scene.
Responding officers located the suspected vehicle, a white BMW X3 that was later confirmed stolen out of Sea Girt, and attempted to stop it. The vehicle, however, fled the scene via Route 280 eastbound.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is investigating the matter.
