Town Council Approves Appropriations, Transfers

The Livingston Town Council passed two resolutions at its Monday, December 30 meeting, one concerning budget appropriations transfers, and the other concerning health insurance.

Appropriations Transfers

The Council voted to transfer $221,100 in appropriations throughout the township departments. This includes $37,000 from the Zoning Board, $36,500 from uniform construction code, and $58,800 from insurance. Appropriations include $85,000 for the Department of Public Works, $15,000 for Human Resources, and $ 10,000 for the Health Department.

The Council resolved that chief financial officer Ann Cucci is authorized to make the necessary entries on the books and 2024 budget, as of November 30, 2024, in connection with the above appropriations transfers.

Insurance

The Council, after previously executing a resolution to join the Garden State Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, voted to renew its membership in the New Jersey Intergovernmental Insurance Fund for a period not to exceed three years, beginning January 1, 2025 and continuing through December 31, 2027.

This will establish coverage for workers’ compensation and employer’s liability; general liability including law enforcement and public officials’ liability; motor vehicle liability; property damage; inland marine coverage; non-owned aircraft liability; and disaster management services.

Closed Session

Prior to the start of open session, the Council met in closed session to discuss personnel matters and contract negotiations for the township’s insurance.
