On Christmas Eve, December 24, at 8:07 p.m., Livingston police officers responded to a home on Cornell Drive on a report of a burglary to the residence. Upon officers’ arrival, they met with the homeowners who stated that they were only away from the residence for a few hours, and when they returned, they observed that several rooms in the home had been ransacked.
Multiple pieces of jewelry were missing from the residence. The Livingston Detective Bureau inspected the premises, and the investigation is ongoing.
It appears that the same actor or actors may have attempted a second burglary on Cornell Drive on the same evening.
Investigating officers from the first burglary observed footprints in the snow that led them to a second residence, where the screen door to a rear slider had been cut, however, the glass door was secured and locked. Per the homeowner’s statement, this attempt occurred around the same time as the first burglary.
The Livingston Detective Bureau is continuing to investigate both incidents.
