LHS Bowling Team Continues Strong Season
Co-captain Parker Shulman has been bowling well for the Lancers scoring 631, 644, and 645 three game series with a 252 high game.

The Livingston High School varsity bowling team has steadily been improving throughout the season. Playing against West Caldwell Tech, the Lancers put together a 963 team total, with Nick Paradiso moving up from junior varsity and scoring a 203. Parker Shulman and Aidan Reyes contributed 205 and 212 respectively. West Caldwell rolled a 877 behind Justin Cohen’s 266.

In the second game, Tech won with an impressive 1040 to LHS’ 767 and Jeremy Serrano rolled 11 strikes in his 274. The Lancers bounced back to win the match, 980-860. LHS’ Sungi Sharif’s 250 led the way while Reyes scored a 225.

In the match against Caldwell, Shulman’s 252 and Matthew Handler’s 196 helped LHS to win, 973-770. Sharif’s 183 and Amber Hui’s 165 aided in the 814-641 second game win. Completing the sweep saw Shulman hit seven strikes for a 229 and Prakhar Samaiya reach a 169 in the 900-680 victory.

The Lancers luck ran out against first place Seton Hall Prep. LHS would score well but lost 1028-936, 981-955, and 955-908. Shulman had games of 211, 234, and 199 for a 644 series. Reyes’237, Victoria Cheng’s 203, and 193, Samaiya’s 186, and Paradiso’s 186 were the high games for LHS.

The team would roll its best team game and series of the season against Millburn. In the first game, the LHS teammates and co-captains Cheng and Shulman had their own shootout. Shulman rolled an impressive front seven strikes and Cheng stayed with him. At the end of the game, Shulman posted a 247 to Cheng’s 245 and helped LHS roll a season high of 1045 to Millburn’s 949. The second game saw the team be very consistent with Cheng’s 180, Shulman’s 199, Paradiso’s 188, Sharif’s 184, and Reyes’ 192 to capture the win and match.

Following the varsity lead, the junior varsity bowling squad posted some impressive scores. Against West Caldwell Tech, Abhimaan Chandan rolled a 159, and 179. Gavin Chin’ hit his high game of the season with a 179 and Handler’s 181 led the way to the match win.

LHS pulled off a three game sweep of James Caldwell High School. Josh Chen rolled a 122, 131, and 147, while Sebastien Vernet-Fabien scored a 113 and 103.

The team also swept Seton Hall three straight with Aayush Saxena’s 123, 115, Amber Hui’s 162, 169 and Chandan’s 144 and 138. Doug Coppola showed much improvement with a 146, 143 and 167.
