Three unrelated cases were heard last week in Livingston Municipal Court
Oswaldo Esplua-Ruiz, 45, of Woodhaven, New York, was charged with two counts of shoplifting on November 2.
Esplua-Ruiz allegedly took five pairs of Nike and Cloudvista sneakers, valued at $433.85, from Nordstrom Rack.
In court, Esplua-Ruiz pled guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct by creating a disturbance, with the second shoplifting charge dismissed in a plea agreement. Esplua-Ruiz was fined $500 and $33 in court costs.
Vehicle Damage
Lynn Balestriere, 68, of West Orange was charged with criminal mischief on October 29.
She was charged for purposely damaging the property of another, specifically by picking up a rock and scratching a driver’s side rear quarter panel and driver’s side rear door of a vehicle. The scratches caused over $2,000 worth of damage.
In court, the charge was downgraded to disorderly conduct, to which Balestriere pled guilty. She was assessed a $500 fine and $33 in court fees.
Noise Complaint
The Woodland Park-based company, Ammar General Construction, was in court for a noise complaint that had occurred on December 15 of last year at 43 West Lawn Road.
The unnecessary noise charge was a violation because construction with heavy machinery was being performed on a Sunday without the presence of the homeowner.
The company was fined $300 and assessed $33 in court costs.
