Daylight saving time will begin on Sunday, March 9, at 2 a.m., when clocks will move forward one hour.
Clocks should be set forward one hour before retiring on Saturday night. For example, at 10 p.m., clocks should be reset to 11 p.m.
In addition to clocks and watches, the time change should be made on items controlling heating thermostats, microwaves ovens, outdoor lighting, lawn sprinklers, water softeners, porch lights, stoves, coffee makers, etc.
The Livingston Fire Department also reminds residents to check the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
