Livingston Man Sentenced For Invasion of Privacy

On Friday, February 28, a Livingston resident was sentenced for invasion of privacy, said Union County prosecutor William Daniel.

Gary Hecht, 55, of Livingston, pled guilty on January 27, to six counts of third-degree invasion of privacy before Union County Supe-0 rior Court Judge Richard Wischusen. On February 28, Judge Wischusen sentenced Hecht to 90 days in county jail. Following the 90-day sentence, Hecht will remain on probation for five years.

According to the prosecutor’s office, on May 6,2024 the Springfield Police Department received a report of a hidden camera discovered in a bathroom at 201 Mountain Avenue, located within the Hecht Chiropractic Office in Springfield. All individuals that were victimized were identified during the investigation.

“Invasion of privacy is a violation of an individual’s fundamental right to privacy and security,” said Prosecutor Daniel. “This sentence sends a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated in our community.”
