Completes Collegiate Basketball Career

Livingston resident Ally Landau completed her collegiate basketball career with the Smith College Pioneers last weekend.

The Pioneers finished the season with a 31-3 record, won the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship, and advanced to the NCAA Women’s DIII Final Four. The team won its semifinal game in the Final Four, and finished as the national runnerup after losing to undefeated NYU in the National Championship game.

This season, Landau led the Pioneers in blocks, assists, steals, rebounding, minutes, and points. She was the NEWMAC conference tournament’s most outstanding player, was named to the NEWMAC allconference first team, as well as the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) all-region first team. She was also selected to the national Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) NCAA Division III All-American first team and named to the NEWMAC allacademic team.

She finished her college career with more than 1600 points, 300 assists, 550 rebounds, and had 200 steals. In high school, she played four years of varsity basketball at Golda Och Academy, earning team MVP and all-conference honors each year and scoring more than 2000 points. Landau also played on the Livingston Travel Basketball team for four years.

Landau is pursuing a master of arts degree in teaching at Smith.

She was also selected for the Maccabi USA basketball team, and will be competing in the 2025 Maccabi Games in Israel this summer.
