The Livingston Environmental Commission (LEC) is inviting community members to reimagine the value of waste by participating in the community-wide CommuniTree project. The plan of the program is to re-use materials to create something beautiful The CommuniTree project is an art installation of a tree with upcycled leaves that showcase ideas, passions, and concerns about the environment. The leaves can be made of any recycled material such as paper, fabric, cardstock, plastic, straws, or actual leaves. Leaves can include text, drawings, paint, knit, crochet, or a collage. Residents are encouraged to have fun, be creative, and share their passion for the environment.
Completed leaves should be dropped off in the labeled box by the front desk at the Livingston Public Library by Friday,April 18. Participants do not need to include their name on the leaf but are welcome to do so if they wish to have their leaf returned to them.
