The Livingston Township Memorial Day Parade Committee has announced that Charlie Quinn, a member of the Livingston VFW Post 2856, has been chosen as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Memorial Day Parade, scheduled for Monday, May 26. A decorated U.S.Army veteran and dedicated community servant, Quinn exemplifies the spirit of service, sacrifice, and civic pride.
He served two years on active duty in the United States Army, including one year as a company commander’s radio operator on the battalion net. During his service, he was wounded in action and awarded the Purple Heart. His valor and dedication were further recognized with the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge. Quinn continues to serve with the Livingston VFW post. He has held numerous leadership positions and currently serves as the post chaplain.
Following his military service, Quinn has remained a cornerstone of the Livingston community. He currently serves as treasurer of the Livingston AARP Board and is actively involved in his parish, St. Raphael’s Church, where he serves as a eucharistic minister of Holy Communion and participates in three additional ministries.
In addition to his faithbased service, Quinn is a member of the Livingston SeniorAdvisory Committee, where he continues to advocate for the well-being and interests of the town’s older residents.
“We are honored to recognize Charlie as our Grand Marshal this year,” said John Powers, chair of the Livingston Memorial Day Parade Committee. “His life of service - to his country, his faith, and his community - represents the very best of Livingston and reminds us of the true meaning of Memorial Day” The Memorial Day ceremonies will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Livingston Oval. All are invited to attend and show support for veterans, active-duty service members, and thememory ofthose who made the ultimate sacrifice. Following the service, the parade will step off onto South Livingston Avenue.
