CAR STRIKES POLE: At 7:08 p.m. on Monday, March 20, Livingston officers responded to a report of a one-car crash into a utility pole on Walnut Street near Giacomo Court. Officers arrived and found that a 2014 Ford Explorer crashed into a pole, breaking it in half. The driver of the vehicle, a 45-year-old Linden man, was transported to Morristown Medical Center for his injuries. The vehicle apparently had a mechanical malfunction that caused it to leave the roadway. The driver was issued tickets for driving with no insurance and having a suspended driver’s license. The road was closed overnight as crews worked to repair the pole. Power was out for some customers, but restored by Tuesday morning.
