He was a graduate of Oratory Prep and Seton Hall University. He spent over 25 years working in finance and accounting for companies spanning from coast to coast. He also held many Christmas parties in Livingston.

Mr. McNany is survived by his children, Peter 25; Madison, 21; and Brendan, 17; and their mother, Maureen Smith McNany of Livingston.

He is also survived by his life partner of many years, Julie Ann Katz of Linden; his parents, Owen and Patricia McNany of Maplewood; and his siblings and their spouses, Kelly and Sean Gorman of Cranford; Brian and Rebecca McNany of Harding; and James and Maggie McNany of West Orange.

The family received friends and relatives at the JacobA. Holle Funeral Home in Maplewood on Monday, July 31.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, South Orange, on Tuesday, August 1.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to “Mickey’s Gift,” a charitable endeavor established to carry on the work of Mr. McNany’s aunt, Mickey McNany, whose life was dedicated to teaching children.
