Gerard M. Deutsch
Gerard M. Deutsch
Gerry was a Brooklyn, New York, native who graduated from Brooklyn College, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics. He later worked as a systems programmer/analyst for 35 years, at companies including Equitable Life and M&M Mars.
In his youth, he was a jazz musician and played at various summer resorts in the Catskill Mountains. Gerry truly enjoyed his retirement when he had time to enjoy his grandsons, play the saxophone and piano and develop impressive skills as a sculptor.
He will be remembered for his intelligence, quick wit, authenticity, and love for his family, as well as his talent as a musician and artist.
His favorite charities included Doctors Without Borders, the ACLU and the Anti-Defamation League. Contributions in Gerry’s memory may be made to any of these or to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements were held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel of Livingston. Memories for the Deutsch family may be shared at www.bernheimapterkreitzman.com.
