Lorraine Moritz, 100 Dies Jan. 9 on Cape Cod
Former Livingston resident Lorraine Moritz (née Cicero) died January 9 on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, of complications related to pneumonia. She was 100 years old.
She was born September 2, 1922 in Newark. She graduated from Barringer High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Upsala College in East Orange.
She worked for Bristol Meyers, New York Telephone, and Bloomingdale’s before embarking on a career as an elementary school teacher. She taught in Clifton and Harlem before relocating with her husband to Livingston, where she taught third and fifth grade students.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred, and later her partner of 28 years, Malcolm Murphy, as well as two brothers, Joseph and Donald. Mrs. Moritz is survived by her brother, Carmen Cicero (Mary); and a number of nieces and nephews. For more information on her memorial, contact [email protected].
