John Sorrentino

John Sorrentino

Mr. John William Sorrentino, known by most as Jack, age 79, passed away on September 29, 2024 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.

Jack was born onAugust 7, 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey, to parents, Albert and Eileen (Smith) Sorrentino. He graduated from Nutley High School in 1963, where he met the love of his life, Paula. Jack went on to establish a 50-year career with United Envelope, spending the majority of his years running the midtown Manhattan printing facility. In the last 14 years of his epic career, he shifted gears to work with his son John’s team, where he played an integral role in growing the business to its current level of success. Jack was a legend and icon in the envelope industry.

Baseball was a major part of Jack’s life. He was a diehard Mets fan but more importantly, loved watching his children, now grandchildren, play the game he loved. Livestream broadcasting was a godsend for him, as he never missed any of their games and was definitely the biggest College of Charleston baseball supporter in New Jersey. He was his grandson Tyler’s biggest fan. He also loved being out on the water on his boat, traveling to his favorite spots in Italy, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Pennsylvania. Music and food were also an integral part of his life. His singing voice will be greatly missed during the holidays. Above all, his strongest attribute was his love for his family. He thrived in his role as patriarch, showing love and support at a level few families are fortunate to experience. He was truly the epitome of a loyal and selfless family man. Jack was preceded in death by parents, Eileen andAlbert; mother and father-in law, Margot and Michael Bacchi; and brother-in-law, Edward (husband of his sister, Eileen). Jack is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Paula; children, Mike (wife, Donna) and John (wife, Judy); grandchildren, John (wife, Stephanie), Bryan (fiancée, Dee), Tyler, and Aydan; along with siblings, Albert (wife, Kathryn),Anne (husband, Gary), Eileen, and Billy (wife, Stacy); plus all of his loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
