The Livingston Planning Board, at its Tuesday, June 20 meeting, voted to approve Mount Pleasant Partners’ application to construct 254 multifamily residential units at 389-405 East Mt. Pleasant Avenue.

Livingston’s Board of Education approved several personnel changes during its Tuesday, June 20, meeting. These include the appointment of Board student representative Jake Ferrans, and Laura DeNicola, Livingston High School’s new assistant principal.

Irene Miller, age 79, of Livingston, died on Wednesday, June 7. Mrs. Miller was born in Jersey City.

The Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion will commemorate Livingston’s third annual celebration of Juneteenth at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 19.

TORCH RUN: The Livingston Police Department participated in the 40th anniversary of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run on Friday, June 9. Livingston’s participation in the run was or ganized by Officer Mike Bar reiro, along with a group effort from the Livingston PBA and its officers. Livingston took the torch from East Hanover at Panevino’s before traveling down Route 10 to Old Road, and eventually the Pillar Elementary School, shown here. The Livingston Township Council met on Thursday, June 8, for a conference only meeting, briefly discussing the vacant lot at Northfield Center and PFAS litigation before entering a closed executive session.

The man who is charged with stealing a Livingston Public School bus was deemed not competent to stand trial by a federal judge, according to reports in the daily press.

Vineeta Khanna, current president of Livingston’s Board of Education, announced during the Monday, June 12, meeting that she will not seek another term on the Board. Her term ends at the end of this year.

The Livingston Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a home burglary targeting a high end motor vehicle.

With great sorrow, the family of Carol Sue Rosenblatt, née Charney, announce her passing. Carol was a tender-hearted woman of uncommon warmth, wisdom and kindness.
