LIVINGSTON DEFEATS CALDWELL

GIRLS’ LACROSSE BEATS MAHWAH

The Livingston High School boys’ track and field team placed second at the Essex County Championships behind Seton Hall Prep on Thursday and Friday, May 18 and 19, at Newark Schools Stadium. The boys competed against 36 other teams, and amassed 59 points, scoring in the sprints, hurdles, distance, throws, and jumps.

GOLFTEAM DEFEATS MILLBURN: The LHS boys’ golf team defeated Millburn, 153-158, at the Canoe Brook Country Club on Wednesday, May 10. The Lancers shot their lowest score of the season, led by Ridhit Beri’s 36 and Ryan Zales’ 37. Livingston next defeated Montclair Kimberley Academy, 158-213, on Thursday, May 11, at Cedar Hill. Jared Zornitzer, a 2020 graduate of Livingston High School and currently a senior studying mechanical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic University, successfully ran a 50 mile “Ultra Marathon.” The race, which nearly doubles the typical 26.2 mile marathon distance, took place in New Paltz, New York, across rigorous terrain in the Shawangunk Mountains. He completed the grueling race in ten hours and 21 minutes, placing 62nd out of 225 other participants.

SOFTBALL RECORD AT 14-4

The Livingston High School boys’ track and field team challenged 38 other teams from Essex County and placed second in the Essex County Relays in their home stadium on Friday, May 5. On the way, the boys performed many of their personal bests of the season and broke three school records.

VARSITY TENNIS WINS TWO: The boys’ varsity tennis team defeated West Orange, 3-2, on Monday,April 24, on the road. The team returned home on Wednesday, April 26, to defeat Columbia, 4-1.
