Mrs. Licata Dies at 86

Kathryn Licata, 86, of Livingston, died on July 23. Born in Brooklyn, New York on March 17, 1938, she was the daughter of Anthony and Adele (Abbaleo) Russo and was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel and Frank. She married Joseph Licata in 1959 and they were together for 61 years before his death in November of 2020.

She will replace principal Justin Toomey, who resigned from his position after five years to become the new superintendent of schools in Hanover Township.

Zoning Board Approves Variances

The Livingston Zoning Board of Adjustment approved an application to build a new single-family residence at 5 Briar Cliff Road during its July 23 meeting. The Board also heard three other cases, approving two and adjourning the third to a later date in the fall. A fifth hearing, to build a single-family residence at 35 Sycamore Avenue, was also adjourned ahead of the meeting and rescheduled to August 27.
