This past weekend, May 4 and 5, was National Fallen Firefighters Weekend. Tribute was paid to the 226 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2023 at a ceremony in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
All Livingston Township offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. All offices will reopen duringregular business hours on Tuesday, May 28.
LOYALTY DAY:
The Livingston Planning Board, during its Tuesday, May 7, conference meeting, amended the chapter 170-87 general zoning requirements of the township land use code regarding a non-residential certificate of occupancy.
This past week, the Livingston Fire Department responded to anumber of calls, including a May 4 house fire.
LANCER VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM HAS 13 WINS:
Anthony J. Cupo, 94, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, died on Friday, April 26. Born in Newark, he resided in Livingston before moving to Coatesville in 2022.
Frances Rose Bilotti, 86, of Livingston, died on April 20.
Marvin Pinkowitz, 87, died on April 20, after a long illness. He was born and raised in Newark and then moved to Livingston. He worked the New England area for a children’s clothing company before retiring to Florida.
This past week, the Livingston High School girls’ varsity softball team beat three teams ranked in the top 20 by the Star-Ledger, including two in the top ten.
