CRASH IN FRONT OF TOWN HALL

The man who is charged with stealing a Livingston Public School bus was charged on Monday and new details about the case were revealed in the court filings released by the Department of Justice.

An unspecified incident at Livingston High School resulted in a 50-minute shelter-in-place order for a student emergency at 8:16 a.m. on Thursday morning, January 26, according to district officials.

A windstorm on Wednesday evening, January 25, brought down primary electrical wires at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Firefighters reported and found the wires down and burning. They secured the area until Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) personnel could make repairs.

Carol Formisano, 80, of Livingston, died on Monday, January 16.

Mathai Samuel, 75, of Livingston, died on Sunday, January 22.

The Livingston High School boys’ indoor track and field team started the championship portion of its season at the Essex County Relays on Saturday, January 21. The event took place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, where the team earned the second place trophy.

Livingston's volunteer Fire Department responded to two fires this past week, a garbage truck fire and a small fire in a commercial water heater in a hotel.
