Two Newark teens are facing several charges after allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a luxury vehicle, Livingston Police said.

An online petition to “stop unnecessary development in Livingston” has garnered the support of over 1,400 people after a contentious redevelopment ordinance was on the Township Council agenda for voting last week.

Livingston resident Harsh Raju has announced his candidacy for the Livingston Public Schools Board of Education. There will be one open seat on the Board up for election this November. Board president Vineeta Khanna’s term will conclude at the end of the year, and she is not seeking reelection.

The township’s Summer Concert Series at the Gazebo is continuing each Sunday evening through August 6. The series, coordinated by the Senior, Youth, and Leisure Services (SYLS) department, is open to the public free of charge.

The Livingston Police Department will be holding its 14th National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1.

At its Monday, July 24 meeting, the Livingston Township Council discussed a redevelopment plan for a portion of South Livingston Avenue.
