One BMW X7 was stolen from outside a Livingston home, and an attempt was made to steal another model of the same vehicle outside of a township business over the past few days, according to Livingston Police.

For the first time since January of 2020, pomp and circumstance returned to the Livingston Senior/ Community Center for the annual Township Council reorganization meeting. It was standing room only in the building, as several Council members were sworn in, a new mayor was named, and dozens of residents were appointed to township committees.

The Livingston Board of Education swore in one new and one incumbent member, and appointed a new president and vice president at its January 3 reorganization meeting. The meeting was held in a hybrid format and may be viewed on the Livingston Public Schools Facebook page.

The Livingston Planning Board held its re-organization meeting on Tuesday evening, January 3, in person at the Livingston Township Hall.

Aras Zayan Naveed, reported at press time to be Livingston’s first baby of 2023, has been named the winner of the annual First Baby Contest. The little boy was born Monday, January 2, at 10:52 a.m. at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center to Aaiza Aame and her husband, Naveed Iqbal. He weighed sevenpounds, nine ounces, andjoins a brother, Ay din Aamer Naveed, who is almost two.
