Anna DiTonno (née Montemarano), age 93, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away on June 22, 2023. Anna was born on February 27, 1930 to Nicholas and Filomena Montemarano in Brooklyn, New York. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Anthony, and daughter Toni DiTonno. She is survived by her four children: Robert DiTonno and wife Juana, Susan Helmstetter and husband Michael, Patti Morris and husband Frank, and Anthony DiTonno and wife Lori (deceased), as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Dear Editor: On the Fourth of July, do something patriotic. Take your family to hear the public reading of the Declaration of Independence, a Livingston tradition since 2000.

Dear Editor: There are lots of ways to show support for a cause or an individual, from the anonymous to the well-know, donations, volunteering, signs on the front lawn, informally spreading the word, thoughts and prayers, handing out leaflets, the list goes on.

Three Livingston High School students – Sophia Levitt, Heainz Majoj, and Joey Shi – will attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Representative Mikie Sherrill, (NJ-11) announced.

Livingston’s Zoning Board reviewed and approved two proposed variance applications and adjourned one during its Tuesday, June 27 meeting. The Board also continued discussing two applications, one from April 25 and another from May 23. Both passed.

The Livingston Township Council, at its Monday evening meeting, approved a number of resolutions and ordinances. Included in these were the approval of its first major PFAS remediation contract and regulations to ensure new buildings in town are constructed in a more environmentally-friendly manner. The Council also heard a presentation from the Arts Council ofLivingston, during which president Barbara Sax suggested that the former municipal court building located on the Oval could be the next home of the ACL Gallery.

Penelope Mariani (née Smith) of Livingston died on Thursday, June 22. She was 88 years old.
