Former Livingston resident Lore H. Weiss died January 3 at the age of 84.

The Livingston Township Council held its first regular meeting of2023 on Monday, January 9, when it passed its first resolutions of the new year. Among those resolutions was one that set specific flag raisings to be done at Town Hall throughout the year.

The Livingston Chapter of UNIC O has announced its selection of Stacey Rubinstein, president of Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, as its 2023 Citizen of the Year. Rubinstein will be honored at a brunch on Sunday, April 23, at the Hanover Manor. She is the 66th recipient of this award, following in the footsteps of Brian Boyle, Walter Joyce, Nick Santinelli, Sandy and Len Goodman, Nancy Dinar, and Tom Cooney. Rubinstein is being recognized for her many years of leadership and service to the Livingston community, embodying the UNICO motto of “Service Above Self.”

LIVINGSTON HOCKEY TAKES HOME WIN

Northland Pool will be closed this summer, and potentially longer, depending on what the Township Council decides to do with it moving forward.

One BMW X7 was stolen from outside a Livingston home, and an attempt was made to steal another model of the same vehicle outside of a township business over the past few days, according to Livingston Police.

The Livingston fifth grade boys’ travel basketball team is off to a 3-0 start in the Suburban Essex Basketball League.

The Livingston High School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams competed at the Coach Glynn Holiday Carnival at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island on December 28, 2022. Forty-two schools were represented, with hundreds of competitors in each event on the track and in the field. The building was packed and everyone was looking forward to finishing 2022 with great performances.

Arnold “Skip” Rose, formerly of Livingston, died on December 29. He was 88 years old.

Eric Peter Rosenson, 68, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away onWednesday, December 28, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Debbie; children, Jennifer and her husband, Michael; Robert and his wife, Jennifer; and Gregory and his wife, Megan. He is also survived by his mother in-law, Jackie, and wonderful grandchildren, Samantha, Peyton, Hannah, Riley, and Brooklyn; Eric’s sisters, Valerie and Nancy, brothers-in-law Russ, David, Ed, Steve, sistersin- law, Caren, and Judy and his Uncle Charles, and many nieces and nephews.

Alan Kenneth Scott of Livingston died on December 20. He was 88 years old.
