Planning Bd. Gives Preliminary Approval to Restaurant Application for More Seating and Lighting Changes

At its Tuesday, February 7 meeting, the Livingston Planning Board gave preliminary approval to amendments to a previously approved project by Om Divya Realty for the parcel at 212,214, and 222 North Livingston Avenue, which includes Livingston Mart, LTown Liquors, andtheAssado Portuguese Steakhouse restaurant. The formal vote, however, will be held sometime at the end of March.

LHS Wrestling Team Competes In Essex County Tournament

The Livingston High School wrestling team competed in the Essex County Tournament, held at Codey Arena on January 25 and 26. The Lancers had six wrestlers make it to day two, including Rory Subarsky (who placed fifth at 157 pounds); Chris Taddeo (sixth at 126 pounds); Alex Diorio (seventh at 144 pounds); and Joe Jean Marie (seventh at 175 pounds). Among the six wrestlers were also finalists Phenol Morlan (second at 150 pounds) and Jason Quirk (first at 138 pounds).

Residents in Livingston and across Essex County gathered at the Oval’s gazebo on Sunday, February 5, in a rally, “Strength and Courage Against Anti-Semitism.” The event came just one week after an attempted firebombing of Bloomfield’s Temple Ner Tamid.

Lancers Defeated In Wrestling Tri-match

Livingston High School’s wrestling team challenged the Kittatinny Cougars, Westfield Blue Devils and Old Tappan Golden Knights in a tri-match on Saturday, January 28, at the Fitness and Wellness Center. The Lancers were defeated by Old Tappan, 39-36; Westfield, 48-25; and Kittatinny, 51 -14. The Cougars defeated all three opponents and won the tri-match.
