The Township of Livingston’s annual 9/11 Ceremony of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, September 11. The program will be held at the 9/11 Living Memorial Garden located on the Livingston Memorial Oval, and will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held rain or shine. All are invited and encouraged to attend, to honor those lives lost on that day 23 years ago.

The Livingston Planning Board, at its conference meeting held on Tuesday, September 3, approved a memorializing resolution for Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center at 94 Old Short Hills Road. The resolution approved the inclusion of wayfinding signs and signs for the building’s cancer center.
Livingston Police detectives are investigating an attempted burglary that took place last weekend.
Lenore A. Dodick, 94, died on August 24. She and her husband, Murray Dodick, lived in Thunder Bay, Ontario and Fort William, Scotland, before moving to the United States and settling in Livingston after their retirement.
Genevieve P. Krueger,102, died on Thursday, August 8.
Raymond Michael McCarthy, 88, formerly of Succasunna and Livingston, died on Monday, August 12, in Richmond, Virginia.
As we prepare to throw our final hot dogs of the season on the grill this Labor Day weekend, marking the unofficial end of summer, it is worth remembering (or learning) the reason for the holiday. Long before the burgers, brews, and football, Labor Day was created to educate citizens about the labor movement.
