100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION: Dina LaFond

Donna J. Del Vecchio (née Mulvihill) 63, of Livingston, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 12, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 346 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. The family received their friends at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 145 E. Mt. PleasantAvenue, Livingston, New Jersey, on Sunday August 18, 2024.

Severe thunderstorms hit Livingston on Sunday evening, August 18, causing flash flooding throughout town. The Livingston Fire Department (LFD) responded to numerous calls in relation to the storm, including flooded basements, vehicles stuck in water, and a resident trapped in an elevator.

Walter Beck died at the age of 91 on August 17.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Captain (Ret.) Frederick Friedman Sr., M.D. (87 years old) while at his home in Livingston, New Jersey, on August 16, 2024. Dr. Friedman (Fred) was born to Frances and David Friedman (both predeceased) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 26, 1937. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Pennsylvania and later the SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he received his medical degree and specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. Early in his career, he was a captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as Chief of Obstetrics at Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Following his service, Dr. Friedman developed a robust medical practice in Brooklyn and Manhattan, delivering thousands

WORK ON WEST OAKWOOD AVENUE

Eugene Colicchio, 95, of Livingston, died on Saturday, August 10. Born in Glen Ridge to the late Anna Cardinal and Antonio Colicchio, he resided in Livingston for the past 62 years.

Arlene Hesterhagen, 87, of Livingston, died on August 3. She was born on August 7, 1937 in Orange, to her parents, Carmen and Mary Canouch. Her two sisters, Anastasia Simone and Gertrude Ennis, preceded her in death.

Diane (nee LaPolla) Facchiano, known to all as Aunt Dee, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 11, 2024 in the care of her loving children and her granddog Annie. She was 86.
