Zoning Board Approves Three Residential Applications

The Livingston Zoning Board heard four cases at its May 30 meeting, approving three and adjourning the fourth to its June 25 meeting. Six cases were originally scheduled, but 12 North Ashby Avenue’s hearing was pushed back to June 25 in advance, while the hearing for 9 Westminster Drive was also adjourned to that meeting due to calculation concerns. Additionally, the Board was forced to limit the length of its meeting to an hour due to a water shortage at the Town Hall.

CRUNCH CRASH: At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, Livingston Police officers responded to Crunch Fitness, 585 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle into a building. Officers arrived to find a 2013 black Acura RDX had driven into the building. The operator of the vehicle, Fenita Remigio, 83, of Essex Fells, stated that she hit the brake but the vehicle would not stop. Remigio suffered a foot injury and was taken to Mountainside Hospital. One person who was inside the business when the accident occurred had a complaint of dizziness and being lightheaded, and was transported to Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. A further investigation determined that Remigio may have mistaken the gas pedal for the brake pedal. C JM Photos
