HEROES AND HEROINES: On Tuesday, December 12, JCC MetroWest held two events that allowed the public to hear real testimonies from survivors of the October 7 attack on Israel. Speakers included Ofir and Rony Kisin, Hila Fakliro, and Shani Teshuva, who each shared their stories from that date. Shown above are Rabbi Moshe Rudin of Congregation Adath Shalom, who moderated the afternoon session, along with Teshuva, Fakliro, and Ofir and Rony Kisin. The related story can be seen on page B- 4.

Zoning Board Approves New Spalding Dr. Home

The Livingston Zoning Board, at its December 12 meeting, temporarily adjourned Gary and Darice Tufaro’s application to construct a two-car garage at 89 East McClellan Avenue until February, 2024. The Board also heard four more applications, approving two and pushing back the others to later dates in the new year.

Fire Department Responds To Car Accident, Arcing Wires

The Livingston Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident, a report of wires arcing, a power problem at Temple B’nai Abraham, and a washing machine issue. Fire officials also investigated several reports of gas and odors, all of which turned out to be unfounded.

Livingston resident Rose Wallach turned 100 on Thursday, November 30. She was bominNewarkin 1923, and lived in Maplewood for over 50 years before moving to Livingston 18 years ago.

Planning Board Concludes Hearing On Northfield Medical Building

The Livingston Planning Board, at its December 5 meeting, concluded hearings over 39 W. Northfield Associates, LLC’s application to construct a new two-story medical office building with added features like parking lot expansion, landscaping, lighting, and signage. However, the Board pushed back a vote on the application to January 16,2024, in order to draft and review a final resolution.

The Livingston Board of Education, at its meeting on Tuesday, December 5, reviewed its equity Audit Report. The report was released on Monday, November 27. The audit began on May 16. The audit was formally presented Tuesday by Rowan University professor and audit consultant Shelly Zion.
