Board of Education Votes to Approve “Open Campus” Lunch for 2024-25

Matthew Block presented his final report as superintendent of schools at the Livingston Public Schools Board of Education’s June 18 meeting. He discussed open campus lunch, a policy that allows for juniors and seniors to leave campus for lunch. This policy was implemented during the COVID pandemic, when social distancing was promoted. Each year since the policy’s inception, the incoming senior class has asked the Board for permission to continue this program.

Fire Drill

FIRE DRILL: Members of the Livingston Fire Department drilled on Tuesday, June 11, with a simulated accident in which a construction trailer broke loose from the truck and struck a motor vehicle. The members trained in airbag lifting techniques, cribbing, shoring, stabilization, extrication and patient removal. Aerial drone footage of the drill, which was used to capture this photo, was provided by Nick Mullin.

Rapp Named School District’s New Business Manager

Jessica Rapp has been selected as the new business administrator and Board secretary for Livingston Public Schools (LPS). The Board of Education approved the appointment during its Tuesday, June 18, meeting. Rapp is expected to begin her new position on August 19.
